Thermo-mechanical Transport in Rotor Chains

We study the macroscopic profiles of temperature and angular momentum in stationary state chains rotors under a thermo-mechanical forcing applied at boundaries. These are solutions system diffusive partial differential equations with boundary conditions determined by forcing. Instead expensive Monte Carlo simulations underlying microscopic dynamics, we perform extensive numerical computations based on finite difference method for describing steady state. first present formal derivation these linear response argument local equilibrium assumptions. then various properties equations. This allows to characterize regime parameters leading uphill energy diffusion—a situation which flows direction gradient temperature—and identify regions corresponding negative conductivity (i.e. positive current temperature). The derive consistent some previous results obtained simulation physical system, confirms their validity.
